Paolo Rizzato was born in 1941 in Milan. He earned his degree in Architecture in 1965 from Milan Polytechnic. In 1978, he founded Luceplan with Riccardo Sarfatti. Rizzato has designed for such companies as Arteluce, Artemide, Luceplan, Alias, Cassina, Nemo, Molteni, Knoll, Kartell, Philips, Montina, Thonet, Mandarina Duck, Guzzini, Lensvelt. His architecture and design projects are included in permanant collections of numerous Foundations and Museums. He has been awarded prizes including three Compasso d’Oro Prizes in 1981,1989, and 1995 amongst many others.

Above, the rather extensive collection of sizes, colors, and forms of the New Pot from the 2006 Serralunga catalog. There are lacquered (expensive) and illuminated versions. What a fantastic and simple design. New Pots are made from rotationally molded, recyclable polyethylene.
