Giotto Stoppino
Heller, Italy, 1972
An update to my post of January 20, 2009, the Deda vase by Giotto Stoppino for Heller. October was a good month for Deda vases on eBay. Usually, many months will go by without even one being listed. The last I saw was a green one sold on 8/16/09 with a starting bid of $35, two bids, and a winning bid of $36. In October, a yellow, a green, and a white vase all ended within two days of each other. The yellow and green retained the original box! The box is 7” x 9” x 14 1/4”.
eBay screenshot from Friday morning, 10/8/2009.
Color | Ended | Start Bid | Bids | Winning Bid |
Yellow | 10/8/09 | $19.99 | 2 | $23.27 |
Green | 10/8/09 | $19.99 | 3 | $28.55 |
White | 10/10/09 | $34.99 | 2 | $38.77 |
Two Deda vases and their original boxes. Each box is marked with a green color label, even though one of the vases is yellow. Each box also had a plastic bag inside, which I presume wrapped the vase.
While most of the box is blank or screams the “Heller” name, there is some relevant information. The “Style 403” designation makes me wonder about other styles. Interesting are small yellow labels that read “Lot No. / TC2455 / 413” and “Lot No. / TC2455 / 414”. These are probably inventory or counting label. You can see the label in the picture of the upper box, just under the “e” in “Heller.”
