Allegro door chime | Unknown designer | V&E Friedland, England for General Electric | 1976

They sure don’t make ‘em like this any more.  This is the General Electric Allegro door chime, model C107, made in white plastic.  There were 7 bidders and 14 bids, showing the considerable interest for this item.  The winning bid was $127.50.  The door chime was sold from Washington, USA.  Note:  the contemporary price tag indicates $15.99.

Not the Pluvium umbrella stand

Not plastic (unfortunately, because these would be fab in lucite) are these candlesticks in crystal.  These were in the window display of Century in Provincetown, Massachusetts last week.  The one in the front looks a little roly-poly but the two in the back look enough like the Pluvium umbrella stand by Giancarlo Piretti that they caught my eye.  There toward the back you can see that these came in deep blue as well.  The store is great, full of cool jewelry, eyeglass frames, Alessi, and other modern stuff.
