Enzo Mari has been responsible for numerous studies of nested spheres and cubes in acrylic. These sculptures, created in the late 1950s to early 1960s, are very rare and desirable. The grand sized ones were typically produced in editions of 50.

The sphere on the right column of the print is one I posted on March 7, 2012, Deformazione ottico-dinamica di un cubo in una sfera which translates to “Deformation optical-dynamics of a cube in a sphere.”
Below is another example of the same sculpture, this one numbered 20 out of the edition of 50, sold on May 29, 2006 from the Quittenbaum Kunstauktionen GmbH “Modern Design - Murano Glass - Tribal Art” sale. On the left column of the print is the sculpture below, which features a black wire framed cube containing a 6 by 6 by 6 array of smaller cubes. The sphere is 10cm in diameter and sits on a 20 by 20cm base. It was produced in an edition of 50 and is signed at the base.
