Here are the items that were shared the week of August 12, 2013. Included were an AM radio, bookends, a desk fan, a wine rack, a hair dryer, tumblers, and a sculpture.
Monday, August 12: Toshiba RP-12 AM transistor radio. Also known as the “twin ball” radio. One ball houses the tuning dial, and the other ball houses a single speaker. Takes a single 9-volt battery.
Tuesday, August 13: Sleek bookend set in bright red plastic, featuring tapered scalloped ribs. Each is marked on the back side Demco. Each measures 9” tall and 6” wide.
Wednesday, August 14: Desk fan by Severin (Germany). The fan has three acrylic blades in white attached to a yellow body supported on a cantilever metal stand. The head moves back and forth in a slot on the front, through approximately 20 degrees, side to side and the body can be adjusted through 90 degrees up and down to the desired position. The on-off switch is located on the back of the body. There are rubber stoppers on the metal frame, 2 to hold the body in place and 3 to keep the stand in place, when in use. It works on a 220v / 50Hz system (UK & Europe) and is fitted with a standard EU 2-pin plug. With original box, instructions (in German, English , and French).
Thursday, August 15: Four bottle wine rack. Made from smoke plastic. Measures 10” wide by 7-1/2” deep. Each circle is 5” in diameter with an opening 3-1/2” in diameter.
Friday, August 16: Orange Calor (France) hair dryer. Folds in and out and has a carrying handle.
Saturday, August 17: Set of 8 vintage plastic owl tumblers by Nasco. There are 6 black cups with gold embossed owls, and 2 yellow cups with black embossed owls. The cups measure 6” tall and 3” diameter across the top.
Sunday, August 18: Acrylic bird head sculpture. Mounted on a jet black Lucite panel. Panel measures 12-1/4” by 6”. The bird measures 17” from base to beak and extends 8-1/2” from the panel. Signed on the back:
