Acrylic and brass menorah

Having the Thursday of Thanksgiving overlap with Hanukkah last occurred in 1888 and supposedly won’t happen again for more than 79,000 years.  You’re going to need a menorah to celebrate the holiday.  You’re going to need one in Lucite even if you aren’t planning to celebrate.  This menorah will look great in your home whether you are Jewish or Gentile.

Here is a minimalist Lucite acrylic and brass menorah.  Features brass candle cups that are removable for cleaning.  Takes Dansk mini tapers.  The menorah measures approximately 6” in height and 11” at its widest point.

An update to my post of  about Lumitime Clocks, specifically the model CC-71 Lumitime clock. For other posts I’ve made about Lumitime clocks, click here. Here is the CC-71 clock in yellow.  I’ve said before this clock would look great on a Saarinen table.

orange and white Harvey Guzzini table lamp

Like the red and white lamp in this post from January 22, 2012 (shared 1/17/12) and the yellow and white lamp here, this lamp by Guzzini is in orange and white.  Similar measurements as the other lamps reported (8½” x 8½” x 9½” tall).

82532 desk tray | Walter Zeischegg | Helit, Germany

This is the 82532 desk tray by Walter Zeischegg for Helit in green.  Great item, similar to the 62540.  Here is a brief biography of Walter Zeischegg. The tray is divided such that there are four compartments for desk items.  Note the original “helit” sticker.

Vintage plastic design: November 18-November 24, 2013

Here are the items shared the week of November 18, 2013.  Included this week were a bubble shelf, a pitcher, a lamp base, speakers, earrings, and a pen tray.

Monday, November 18:  Purple bubble shelf by Switched On Design.  Note this is a newer issue shelf.  The shelf measures about 19.5” in circumference and about 10” deep.  They hang by mounting screws in the wall secured by plastic anchors.

Wednesday, November 20:  Yellow and white orb pitcher.  Measures 10” in height.

Thursday, November 21:  Red plastic lamp base.  Approximately 50cm in height.

Friday, November 22:  Zenith 6” speakers in white 8” by 8” cabinets.

Saturday, November 23:  Fun vintage, bright yellow and clear plastic, space-age, circle earrings. The earrings are clip back. Each earring measures approximately 33mm.

Sunday, November 24:  Orange Omega model 606 pen tray.  In original box.  Box measures 18cm long by 12 cm wide by 4-1/2cm height.

Vintage modern plastic design: November 11-17, 2013

Here are the items shared the week of November 11, 2013.  Included this week were a Christmas tree, a cat sculpture, a box, a bottle rack, and a paper towel rack.

Monday, November 11: Christmas tree by Lapin.  When assembled, it is 32-1/2” tall.  Each section is removable and stored flat.  It consists of 6 sections and each section has 8 branches. There are 156 hooks on the tree for hanging ornaments.  The red plastic cone on the top holds the top together and on the base a red guide and ring holds it together.  Three of the sections have 3 feet that are part of the branch so the tree sits evenly on a surface.

Wednesday, November 13: Acrylic cat sculpture.  The cat is 15” in height and 13” across.

 

Thursday, November 14: Black and white plastic mid century spherical box.  The white globe has a black base and 3 black round knobs on top of the lid.  Measures 8” in height.

Friday, November 15: Heller Style 501 bottle rack for 6 bottles. Measures approximately 11” by 15” by 9” assembled.

Sunday, November 17: Glossy red ABS Guzzini paper towel rack. Designed by STG Studio.  Measures 10” in height, 5” diameter at base.

Wednesday, November 6:  Orange Solitair hairdryer by Krups, Germany (1974). Has a European plug.  Illustrated in L’Utopie du tout Plastique.

 

Thursday, November 7: Five orange 4702 wall clothes hooks by Olaf von Bohr for Kartell, Italy.

 

Friday, November 8: Acrylic lime coasters.

Sunday, November 10:  Green ladybug kitchen timer.

Cubo Serie a reticolo L sculpture | Enzo Mari | Danese, Italy | 1959–1963

This sculpture by Enzo Mari is entitled Cubo Serie a reticolo L which translates to “Cube Lattice Series L.”

eBay item 190922493641 sold for €905.00 ($1,213) on October 13, 2013 (Austria).

This sculpture is titled on the underside and marked “Enzo Mari 1959-1963 / Cubo Serie a reticolo L / cinquanta copie numerate e firmate copia n.6 / edizioni Danese Milano.”  It is signed copy number 6 out of an edition of 50.

Vintage modern plastic design: October 28-November 3, 2013

Here are the items shared the week of October 28, 2013.  Included this week were a lamp, a mirror, a clock, a tic-tac-toe game, and a bowling ball.

Monday, October 28:  A mid-century modern plastic “Butterfly” hanging lamp kit made by Luminiere. Kit does not include lamp socket or cord.  Made in Denmark.

Tuesday, October 29:  round mirror with orange rigid plastic frame.  The mirror measures approximately 62cm in diameter (including frame) and 3.5cm thick.

Wednesday, October 30:  Traditions West Germany wind up alarm clock in patriotic colors.

Thursday, October 31:  Acrylic tic-tac-toe game.  There are 4 Os, 4 Xs, and a smoke Lucite game board.

Friday, November 1:  Ebonite Optyx Skull polyester bowling ball.  Click for more information about this item.
