8800 and 7800 bed tray | Olaf von Bohr | Beylerian, United States of America | 1970

Many of the plastic items by Kartell, Italy were manufactured domestically in the United States by Beylerian Limited.  Here is one such item in its original box, the bed tray by Olaf von Bohr.  This one is model 7800 in white in the original Beylerian box with Beylerian imprint.  This post updates my original post about the 8800 and 7800 bed tray.

The box refers to the object as a “bed & lap tray” suitable for breakfast in bed, a lap desk, a lap tray, and outdoor entertaining.  The back side of the box has pictures of the tray serving each of these functions.

Here is an orange onion chopper.  Will chop coarse or fine.  This handy kitchen accessory dates from the late 1970s.  These typically sell on eBay for less than $10 and are relatively common.

blue plastic desk organizer

Here is a blue plastic desk organizer.  There are 6 recessed cups for storage.  It is especially interesting because of its similarity to the Dedalino (pencil holder) Dedalotto (vase) Dedalo (umbrella stand) trio of designs by Emma Gismondi Schweinberger for Artemide.

eBay item 231298632776 ended August 6, 2014 at 12:34:19 PDT (United Kingdom).  One bidder placed 1 bid for the desk organizer, which sold for £5.99 ($10.09).

white wall coat hooks

Here is a pair of white wall hooks, with the traditional large hook above and smaller hook below.  The hangers measure 5-1/2” long by 3-1/2” wide.

eBay item 181472648996 sold July 29, 2014 at 18:20:07 PDT (United States).  One bidder placed 1 bid and the pair of coat hooks sold for $19.00 plus shipping.
