I was asked a question about these vintage acrylic triangle lamps. Other then their being a great design I don’t know anything about the maker and as far as I can tell, there are no marks on the lamp. If you know anything about these lamps, please comment below!
Do you have any information on the black plastic triangular lamp or the yellow one of the same design you posted about? Makers marks or anything would be good. I am trying to find this.
I posted about the lamp in black in May, 2013 and in yellow in December, 2013 back when I was trying to post a plastic item of design interest every day. The lamps are approximately 10” tall by 7” wide. They feature a colored piece of acrylic that has been molded into a triangular shape. Centered toward the top of each side is a circular cut out onto which is mounted a translucent white dome. The mounting is done on the interior, so that when looking from the outside, the three translucent domes appear to be a sphere centered in the triangular base. Under the dome on one side is a small black switch.
They do occasionally come up for auction on eBay and are generally reasonably priced. This pair, including a yellow and a blue example, sold for $24,39 plus shipping. eBay item 121496250982 ended November 30, 2014 at 6:00PM. Four bidders placed 5 bids. Do a search for “plastic triangle lamp” and if they are up for auction, they will probably appear. Best of luck!
