But what to wear on your jacket? Here is a resin plastic pin that features the physical “iron first” that was prominently featured on the album cover and T-shirts and in the stage show. It measures approximately 1-1/2” (4cm) width by just over 1” (3cm) height.

Here’s the lyrics to Iron Fist.  It’s a classic. While you can’t get the song from this site, a search for “Motorhead Iron Fist” on YouTube will give you the fix you’re looking for.

Iron Fist (Ian Kilmister, Phil Taylor, and Eddie Clarke.)

Dark night nothing to see
Invisible hand in front of me
Scared to death there’s someone near
Scared to move but you can't stay here

You know me, evil eye
You know me, prepare to die
You know me, the snakebite kiss
Devil's grip, the Iron Fist

Flying horse don’t make a sound
Flying hooves don't touch the ground
Walk in circle lose you track
Can't go on but you can't go back

You know me, evil eye
You know me, prepare to die
You know me, the snakebite kiss
Devil's grip, the Iron Fist

Moon eclipse and you know why
Ghost rider in the sky
Beast of evil devil’s hound
Tooth and claw they pull you down

You know me, evil eye
You know me, prepare to die
You know me, the snakebite kiss
Devil’s grip, the Iron Fist

plastic poodle figurine

Even with Westminster concluded for the year, it’s hard to not call everyone back and award Best in Show to this fine specimen.  Come to think of it, why would anyone go through the trouble of dealing with a real live dog when you could proudly rescue this handsome example in plastic?  Here is a poodle that measures 6-1/4” height by 6-1/2” length. Clearly, our poodle has been well loved and even has a name: FIFI, marked in black Dymo tape. That also might be a price stamp there on the belly, “99” cents.  In dog years, Fifi is probably 400 or so, give or take a few.

The poodle is marked on the inside of the left, hind leg:

baby lamp | Petitcollin, France

Petitcollin was founded in 1860.  Nicolas Petitcollin, the company's founder, manufactured horn combs in Étain, Meuse, France.  The company moved to Paris and in in 1898, began to use celluloid for its various products. It is widely thought that Petitcollin started its manufacture of toys in 1901 and that of its dolls in 1907.  In the mid twentieth century, Petitcollin began to specialize in manufacturing objects made from polyester resin and in 1961 it became the first French manufacturer of polyester resin helmets.

In 1995, Vilac acquired the company, which became known as SARL Jouets Petitcollin.  The factory has been open to the public since 1998 and it serves as the only operational doll factory in France.  The company was given the Label Entreprise du partimoine vivant (Living Heritage Company label) by the French government in 2007. Visit the website of Petitcollin here.

Petitcollin may be famous for its dolls, but it is also responsible for this doll-like, baby-shaped lamp.  It was fabricated in pink, orange, blue, green, and flesh colors.  The lamp dates from the early 2000s.  The lamp measures approximately 14-1/2” inches tall from head to toe and takes a halogen bulb.  At one point it was available from many retail outlets in the $90-100 range, but alas no longer seems to be.  Any way you look it it, the lamp is absolutely creepy, from the adjustable limbs, to the fact that a monochrome and strangely colored baby lights up, to the unfortunate location of the cord. I wish I had one.

Here is detail from a blue example from eBay that didn’t sell.

Sinus ashtray (model 84030) | Walter Zeischegg | Helit, Germany | 1966

In September, 2011, I posted about the Sinus ashtray by Walter Zeischegg for Helit.  These models are given numbers 84005 (small, 5” diameter edition) and 84009 (large, 8” diameter edition). The best way to describe the 84005 and 84009 models models is that when looked on edge, the wave is the same height all the way around the ashtray.

An alternative and less commonly encountered style of the ashtray is the 84030, where the waves are shifted so the edge has three wide parts and three narrow parts   The ashtray rests on the three wide parts.  I previously described the 84030 in red and green.  Recently, a trio in white, red, and and black sold.

eBay item 131351374064 sold November 23, 2014 at 11:35AM for €68.00 plus shipping ($77.73) (Germany). Nine bidders placed 10 bids on the set of ashtrays.

vintage acrylic triangle lamp

I have posted about these triangular lamps a few times already but will try to share new colors as I find them.  The others I have found so far are in blackyellow, and most recently just last week, blue (and yellow).  The lamps are approximately 10” tall by 7” wide.  They all have an acrylic shade that looks like a sphere embedded in the lamp when viewed from the side.  Here is the lamp in avocado green.

eBay item 261720174616 (United States).  Sold for $39.99 plus shipping.
